Short answer: yes — Gamma Plus removes the "Made with Gamma" watermark, but only from exports you make after upgrading. Files you already downloaded keep their badge forever, and decks created in a free workspace can carry surprises. If you upgraded (or are about to) specifically to get rid of the watermark, here is exactly what changes and what doesn't.

What Gamma Plus actually removes

On a paid plan, the watermark disappears from the three places it lives:

  1. Shared web links — paid workspaces can toggle "Hide 'Made with Gamma'" in the share settings
  2. New PDF exports — no badge on any page
  3. New PowerPoint exports — no branded shape on the slide master

The key phrase is new exports. The watermark is stamped into the file at export time. Upgrading changes how future exports are generated; it does not reach into files that already exist on your disk.

What upgrading does NOT do

It doesn't clean files you already exported

Every PDF or PPTX you downloaded while on the free plan still contains the watermark object. Upgrading has zero effect on them. You have two options:

  • Re-export each deck from Gamma after upgrading (works, but tedious for many files — and burns nothing extra since paid plans have unlimited exports)
  • Clean the existing files directly with GammaRemover — drop the old export in, the watermark object is deleted in your browser, done. Faster when you have a folder of old exports and don't want to open each deck again.

Old free-plan decks may still show the badge

A quirk that catches many upgraders: presentations created while your workspace was on the free plan sometimes keep showing the badge on their shared link even after you upgrade. The common fix reported by users is to copy the cards into a new deck created inside the paid workspace, then share/export that copy. If a re-export still carries the badge, cleaning the exported file directly (PDF / PPTX) sidesteps the workspace logic entirely.

It doesn't remove other tools' watermarks

Gamma Plus only affects Gamma's own branding. If your workflow includes other AI tools that stamp exports, each has its own rules — see our guide to removing AI-tool watermarks.

Is the watermark alone worth the upgrade?

Gamma Plus is priced at roughly $10/month ($120/year). What you get beyond watermark removal: unlimited AI credits (the free plan's 400-credit lifetime cap disappears), custom fonts, and brand controls.

The honest math:

  • You generate decks weekly and hit the credit cap → the upgrade pays for itself in credits alone; the watermark removal is a bonus
  • You only export occasionally and the badge is your one complaint → $120/year to hide a corner badge is steep, when removing it from your own exports is free and takes seconds
  • You need brand kits and team features → the higher tiers exist for exactly that

Checklist after upgrading

If you just upgraded and want everything clean:

  1. Toggle Hide "Made with Gamma" in Share → Advanced settings for each deck
  2. Re-export any deck you actively share as PDF/PPTX
  3. For decks created pre-upgrade whose links still show the badge, copy into a fresh deck in the paid workspace
  4. For old exported files sitting on disk (or if a badge survives anywhere), run them through GammaRemover — browser-based, lossless, no upload

Upgrading and file-level cleanup aren't competitors; they solve different halves of the same problem. The plan controls what Gamma generates going forward. The file is yours either way.
